Cleaning tanks

Ok maybe a silly question....

When you vacuum n clean ur tanks, ate u able to clean the tank 100v% of it, can you get rid of all uneaten food n poop at the same time ? Do you remove ornaments, plants to have more chances to clean the whole tank or you do what you can to clean it up ?

Normally you don't need to always vacuum the substrate every ntime unless you run under gravel filtration. Since I have live plants I leave the area around them alone.
