I just cleaned my tank, but unfortunately i don't think i did it well. The tank is still pretty dirty.

I wasnt sure if i should scrub the hair growing off my live rocks or not, and how much watter i should replace. But the thing that worried me the most is how many parasites i found living in the gravel. they were these little pink worm things, and there was hundreds! i got rid of a bunch of them but im sure theres still some in there. Can anyone give me some cleaning tips for next time?

Leave any critters you find. 99% of them are beneficial to your tank.

Clean often. Don't let it get to the point where you need to scrub.

If you are having problems with hair algae get some rowaphos and something like an emerald crab which will eat it for you.

Let nature clean your tank wherever possible IMO

agreed. never clean your tank IMO. dowater changes by all means but marine tanks are not meantto be cleaned.

Add cleanup crew.... 1 snail or hermit for each and every gallon of water.
Hair algaes are a sign if high nutrients, this means you need more cleanup crew for a start and to use RO water and Rowaphos. DONT get rid of the worms and crittersin the sand etc as these are vital cleanup members in the tank, as has been mentioned, let nature do the work for you :good:
