Firstly thanks again to those who advised me before about my new filter. After getting it working I've let it run for a few weeks, but know that I will have to be brave and open the canister up. I have the german to english instructions which are amusing, but don't quite give me the detail I want about what will happen when I turn off the power and attempt to disconnect the hoses. Should I be prepared for lots of water escaping the hoses or is it valve controlled like I hope it might be?

I have a pair of 2026- they shut off to remove the hoses. Virtually no water leaks out anywhere if done right.

With me 2075 the cutoff valve is brilliant, no leaking and easily restarted. One rip is to.empty all the water on the canister into a separate bucket. Do the clean etc and then refill the canister with the water from the bucket. You now know that the canister has exactly the same (right) amount of water in to make restarting the pump / siphon easy :)

Thanks again guys. Completed my first filter clean. Virtually no water loss. Great stuff! :)
