Cleaning External Heater

how often should i be cleaning the pipe that connects to the filter tubing,hope you know what i mean

i do one external every six months (two on the tank) and in 3 years have never cleaned, nor needed to, the filter pipes. but if they get direct sunlight, they may need done more often. so i would say, when the flow drops and you can see they are clogged.

thanks for that, i know about the filter tubing ,i dont do that very often ,but was just concerned that maybe i should be cleaning the heater more often,

they are connected, (filter and heater) you do one you do both!!!! I dont have the Hydor now, i use two 150 not one 300. but it got dirty at the same speed as the filter pipe.
