Cleaning External Filter Pipes

Hi. The inlet and outlet pipes on my tetratec ex 1200 need a good clean. Any ideas of the best way to do so? Thanks.

Wire coat hanger, straightened out, sponge tied on end. Or, tie a weight to and each end of some fishing line, a long piece, and some sponge in the middle, feed one end with a weight through the pipe, once it comes out the other end, pull the sponge through, then back and fourth...

if your not keen on the DIY version you can always buy one of these thats what i did, its amazing shame its only short as my pipes are like 2 to 3 meters long
