Hi Guys it's been a while .. My tank is now looking super and all inhabitants are healthy and happy .. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on breeding cleaners in a comunity tank ,, can it be done ,, i do like my shrimps . cheers guys

Check into it in a little more detail yourself but its pretty much impossible to do in captivity. I haven't looked at this for a couple of years at least though so someone may have had some breakthroughs in that time.

The problem is that the "babies" (can't remember the actual name for them off the top of my head) go through several different development stages. Depending on species there are various difficulties encounter, generally these being feeding and them surviving each molt/development stages. I do remember reading the logs of some guys that where working on it and had done really well but it was a fall time job and I don't think they ever successfully raised any from egg to adult stages.

thanks ,,, to be fair it looks a bit to much out of my league . but thanks again

If you are seriously interested in breeding shrimp, I recommend the book "How to Raise and Train Your Peppermint Shrimp." Very detailed info on required setups, timelines, and feeding that is applicable to most cleaner shrimp. However, it's not an easy task - I tried my hand at at it and found I didn't have enough free time or space to pull it off.
