Hi there, recently set-up a 90 USG tank and have almost reached the end of the curing cycle - so time to think about my clean-up crew :p
What would you suggest to be the best snail/crab/shrimp combination for this size tank?? Looking to have corals as well as fish...

i have a 90 us gal also 4 ft by 2ft by 1.5 ft -

i have 3 shrimp-2 cleaner 1 peppermint 12 hermits-10 red leg 1 eletirc blue,, 6 turbo snails and getting 4 cerith and 4 nassirus snails and 4magnartia snailsi also have 1 serpent star 1 sand sifting star 1 red sea star

for fish i am getting 10 fish and i will be adding coral soon so you can base your tank round this if you want to

IMO you can never have too few snails :good:. Cerith, Nassarius, Margarita, Trochus, Astrea and Turbo are the common ones. Just remember with Turbos, they can get BIG and bulldoze smaller rocks. And Astrea snails have a tough time righting themselves if they flip over, so their mortality rate is high...

ive heard from a few ppl that red leg hermits can eat the snails as weel as coral because they have bigger pinchers

bambam: I have never herd that. I read a few invert books and nothing notes that. You should be fine with them.

yeah thats another problem i find that everyone has there own opinion and i appriciate the info, i always wanted to get a couple but i worried about that, i'll take your advice, going out tonight and getting a couple thanks alot

Thanks for the advice guys...
looking forward to actually having something to look at in the tank, instead of staring at it for hours hoping a new feather duster etc will emerge!! hehe :D

get scarlet reef hermits there less likely too be aggressive, hermits will not eat coral, but they all have the possibility of killing a snail if they want its shell, if you provide some empty ones that shouldn't be a problem
