WELL I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT HOW MUCH OF A CLEANUP CREW YOU SHOULD HAVE PER GALLON BUT I DO KNOW THAT IS ALOT!
IT WILL GIVE ALOT OF LIFE TO THE ROCKS BUT IF THERE IS CORAL OF ANY KIND I THINK IT MAY BE A PROBLEM? I DONT KNOW IF IM COMPLETELY RIGHT ABOUT THAT.

yeah, that does sounds a little much. How does

20 bumble bee
15 Astrea
15 cerith
10 margarta
10 nassarius
10 turbo

that still sounds like a lot to me  Im starting a 90 gallon soon and probley won't be putting that many snails in :good:

what (if any) ill affects does MAJOR snail overstocking cause in the tank?

20 bumble bee
15 Astrea
15 cerith
10 margarta
10 nassarius
10 turbo

would this list be better?

i wouldn`t even have that many cut it down to 10 of each....

we`ve got 7(maybe 8) in a 30 gallon

yea we have hermits and some shrimp...

didn`t realise you wern`t addinghermits aswell

if i remember rightly you want one member f CUC to every gal of tank water
(of course accounting for size of critter)

you definatley want some form of detritavore in ther to tae care of any uneaten food...
and by turbo snails do you mean trochus or the true turbo as the true turbos grow quite large

true.. this is what infact is going on... I have a cleanup crew in my tank.. most hermits about 60 of them... I've bored with them, and i've read that snails do a more effective job.. So I plan on giving all my hermits 2 my buddy who just started his tank... that will leave me with
1 sand sifting seastar
1 Brittle Star
2 large tubro's
4 Astrea Snails

now my tank is 75 gallons.. I will need 2 correct my clean up crew numbers... and thats how this post started
so my tank is already established..
20 bumble bee
15 Astrea
15 cerith
10 margarta
10 nassarius
10 turbo

would that be a correct adjustment  :p

Nassarius snails, best carrion/uneaten food eaters out there!

A very reputable fish store by me helped us out when getting our snails. We had 2 turbos, one died, and I wanted to get a couple more. They said that for a 75 gallon it wouldn't give them enough to eat and they would probably die. We ended up getting 10 nassarius and 10 astreas, that was the mix they put together for us. I say we could use 10 to 20 more and I think they would all still have enough to eat.
