going to pick up 2 clarias catfish on saturday, hopefully be going in a 7ft tank, what else would be suitable stocking for this tank, would rather more mid sized fish than a couple of giant fish.

you need fish like oscars, texas, JD, midas that kind of size or the walking catfish will just eat everything

thats kl, i dont mind fish that size, i jus didnt want any monster fish that i could only have 3-4 in there or it would just look too empty

you might get away with something slightly smaller but they are notorious fish eaters in the wild there known to clear out entire ponds then when all the fish are gone they walk to the next pond then start again hense the name walking catfish hope you have a tight fitting lid

lovely fish and made all the better because they are so a ctive, however I hada 17 inch one that was a big fish bearing in mind how stocky and muscly it was. He was soo aggressive and would batter any tankmates within minutes of them going in, so be careful, I tried large tinfoils and oscars and a plec to no avail

when transporting them 103 miles, would they be ok in a bucket barely covered with water, and also can i just put them in any water, im guessing they accept any water as they spend there lives hoping from pond to pond so must be used to a variety of water parameters
