how difficult are clams to keep?
was speaking to bloke in my lfs and he mentioned that you have to have haylide lights?
does that mean that t 5`s are no good for keeping clams?
does anyone have a clam?

depends on type of clam maximas NEED halides.

Maximas do not "NEED" halides. They can do well under properly installed T-5's. Of all the giant clams Tridachna crocea probably needs the most light.

with good reflectors and HO T5's, both are the same on average PAR output. Also depends on what clam you want.

yes. they dont NEED halides but they do better with them.
