Hi all!

After searching a little, I found only threads about clams in a tank with fish and broken links to caresheets.

I was wondering if someone is keeping clams like the Asian clam Corbicula in a tank on their own.

I presume a powerhead moves the water around but what would be the best food and how to maintain water quality?

I guess there would be no filter. Should nitrifying bacteria be build up elsewhere in the sand or in rocks or should there be frequent water changes, maybe daily?

What would be the minimum distance between two clams or can they be kept alone as well?

It's my understanding clams only thrive in a "green water" setup, so you need to induce an algae bloom. If the water isn't green, the clams will need supplemental feedings.

What could that be? Something similar what corals eat? My guess is that frozen food like hatched brine shrimp etc. is too big for them.

they are filter feeders and if need manual feeding, food most of the time has to be delivered directly at them. hard to keep i would say.
