Clam What Lighting

right bearing in mind im upgrading soon. so what should i do about lighting? should i wait till i get my upgrade. or buy the lighting i need for the moment for a clam and then add it to my new tank (when i get it) so can i 2 of these light things like this

also i will not have the upgrade tank set up untill next year

How deep is your current tank and what species of clam is it?

Clams need intense lighting (Generally Metal halides)

If you plan on upgrading... why bother buying a light now when you'll just have to buy one again later?

yer i know so i surpose theres not much point. the hight of my tank is 50cm but it is a bit less so around 47cm. the low light type.

Not worth it IMO... That's a tall tank so you will need a decent light for even the lower light clams. I would just save up for a light for the upgrade.

so add a 4 foot ati light unit? to the tank i have atm?

A tank should be at least 6 months old before adding a clam + you need a lot of calcium to allow the clam to grow this will need to be tested weekly also KH and Mag

I would wait until your new tank is up and running and stable

its just that my tank is 8 months old. but u guys know what u doing.

i would too harry, the new system will have a much larger volume so the clams calicum demands wont be such of a big impact
