The tank? Probably a few longer tanks, something like a 55g to start with. The problem with wood is that if I built one, it would be the end of my tank. The thing would just buckle under 550lbs (10 pounds per gallon, isnt it?)

Do you you mean concrete block ?

Cinder block is actually made with cinders , and not recommended for load bearing situations , more for non load bearing partitions because the cinder block is less expensive to use then concrete .

If you do use concrete block , the holes go vertical , that's where the strength is .

Using wood depends upon the amount and spacing between vertical supports , the more you have the more it can hold .

**cinder block is a darker Grey color then concrete block , and weighs less .
