I have 3 cichlids in my tank with just corys and a plec, Just wondered what other specie could mix with them? Or am i better keeping them as a specie tank?

not to sound too critical, but its never a great idea to buy any fish without knowing exactly what you are getting, what were they labeled as at the shop? did you ask any questions? did they ask you any questions?

Saying i just bought a member of the cichlid family is EXACTLY like saying i've just bought a member of the cat family, it could be a tabby cat of it could be a lion!!!

What size tank are they in? can you fing anything similar on google?

Saying that they are called diggers doesnt narrow it down much most cichlids will did to a degree.

Sorry again for asking so many q's but we really need to find out waht these fish are, and how best to take care of 'em

They did tell me the name but i forgot

Its a geophagus species. They are typically peaceful and liek to be kept in groups. Mixing them with other cichlids, especially aggressive ones would be a mistake.

The picture he put up is my fish, if it is the same species it is not a Geophagus spp. but Satanoperca leucosticta. I keep mine with other cichlids: sajica, severums, blue acara, Apistogramma spp. and I've kept them with others as well. On the group issue I had to split mine up as they were attacking each other, though I will try and get a few more to make an actual group and try again.
