Right now it is a gourami tank but i am thinking of remaking the tank. The gouramis have been in there for almost 2 years and they are now starting to bore me. I am thinking of either a cichlid tank or a community tank. If i make it a cichlid tank i was thinking of Mbunas and Clown loaches and leaving the 2 plecs in there. If a community tank im thinging 35 Neon Tetras 15 Zebra Danios, and everything thats is currently in my 30 gallon tank. What do you guys think?

OC,
I would just make sure you don't over stock the tank. I mean
35 Neon Tetras 15 Zebra Danios, and everything thats is currently in my 30 gallon tank. What do you guys think
is a LOT of fish for a 55 gallon. I know everyone wants to have a good variety of fish in their tanks but if you overcrowd like this it can really stress the fish and eventually lead to loosing them. The general rule is one inch of fish per gallon. If you take 35 neons, 15 zebras, 2 Angelfish, 1 Kissing Gourami, 1 Dwarf Gourami, 1 Giant Gourami, 1 Opaline Gourami, 1 Mickey Mouse Platy, 1 Swordtail, 2 Ottocinclis, 3 Fancy Tail Guppies, 3 Neon Tetras, and 1 Goldfish....you are looking at over 75 inches of fish easy. This many fish will create A LOT of waste for one 55 gallon tank.
As for the Mbunas, the loaches, and the 2 plecostomus, are the all compatable? I don't know this one so I will not try and act as if I do. The only question I have about this is how big will these fish get and how much room will they all need?
Signed,
Sondan
