my blue acara has decided he is besotted with vinny my large male red spotted sev ( in avatar). he follows him everywhere shimmering and displaying spreading his fins and cleaning off rocks etc. vinny wasnt impressed at 1st but it seems the acaras persistence has paid off. now vinny responds by doing his own little dance with the odd loop the loop!!! crazy fish. could i have the worlds 1st gay cichlids

Oh good I am not the only one then lol, both my servs are constantly displaying at each other and cleaning rocks!

do many sevs do flips its just my rottie has never even bothered to push a hard lil swim let alone flip.

it turns out what looked to be a young male acara is actually female. as i speak she is covering a rock with eggs. wont get fertilized tho as vinny aint interested and theres no male acaras in the tank.

Well, you could get BA x Severum hybrids, hopefully

LOL!

Nah they wouldnt be viable...i do find Hybrids quite cool aslong as they aint sold.

True, if you sell hybrids, people will try and make fish that are so diverse and, eventually all fsh will have something wrong with them. Their size might get screwy and make every sibling grow different, some of them max at 3 inches while others a massive 14inches. Also deformed fish. Look at Blood Parrots and Flowerhorns. Flowerhorns are overly popular and have at least 6 cichlids in the strain. Blood parrots, they have mouths that are hard to eat and when breed, can't remove fungused eggs. Good is that most are sterile
