I have--along with three other different cichlids--a Pseudotropheus socolofi (Powder Blue) cichlid who seems to have a very odd behavior towards my Kuhli Loaches. When I first bought the cichlids, I have to admit, I was rather worried about the loaches; what the cichlids might do to them. Not anymore. At first, all of the cichlids were extremely curious about them. They even cornered one, not to harm it as I first thought, but simply to watch it in seeming bewilderment as it swam up and down in the corner. Now, however, the Powder Blue cichlid has apparently claimed the Kuhli Loaches as his own. He managed to dig his way underneath a hollow plastic fungus decoration that the Kuhli Loaches hide in (this worried me at first), and, upon claiming it as his own, decided that the loaches went along with it. Rather than trying to chase them, he chases away any other cichlid that dares to come near them. The loaches themselves couldn't seem to care less about any of the cichlids, but the Powder Blue has taken to defending them as his. This rather perplexes me, as I thought that he would do just the opposite. If there is any explanation for this odd behavior, I would gladly hear it!

when i had my clown knife they would sleep together and when the clown was eating a golfish the loach would eat some out of his mouth
