Hi All!

Just purchased a Pseudotropheus socolofi (Powder Blue, Pindani) from the LFS. At least that was the labeling on the tank. But now that I am surfing the internet for info on this fish, it looks more like a Melanochromis johannii or possibly a Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos (Maingano) with its black and blue somewhat checker board markings. The size of the fish is only 1 inch, so it is still very young. Do Pindani's have these markings at a young age? Or did the fish store have their tank labeled wrong?
Any comments would be awesome!
Thanks in advance.

hi welcome to the forum, im sure myself and all the other african cichlid addicts on here would love to help you!
ok so the pseudotropheus socofoli: http://www.cichlidforum.com/profiles/species.php?id=919 shouldent look like the melanochromis johannii: http://www.cichlidforum.com/profiles/species.php?id=760
or melanochromis cyaneorhabdos (maingano): http://www.cichlidforum.com/profiles/species.php?id=756

if anything you would get the johannii and the cyaneorhabdos mixed up but not the socofoli :good:
