Cichlid For 29 Gallon

Still looking for a good centerpiece fish for my 29 gallon. I saw that my LFS had Kribs in stock. Would these go well in a community tank with Zebra Danios,Cherry Barbs and maybe Neon Tetras and Harlequin Rasboras? Or could you recommend another peaceful,hardy Cichlid for a new tank? Should i get a pair? Thanks.

I'd say either rams or keyholes since both are pretty peaceful. Kribs and apistos are a bit of a risk some people could have success while others lose fish to them. If you decide to get apitos or kribs don't get a pair because they will probably spawn and they get pretty aggressive when spawning. If you get heyhole cichlids or any type of ram i think a pair would be fine.

I would go with German Blue Rams instead. I have my rams in a tank with Neons and rummies. My kribs are with rainbow shark, angels, and more aggresive fish.

Ive heard a few horror stories of how aggresive kribs get while breeding.
