cichlid compatability

I have a 600L tank with a single baby red devil (2inch). If i put a juvinile jaguar cichlid in the tank now would they grow up will they fight each other and if not will they have enough room

not sure how many gallons that is, but i strongly advice you not to put those 2 kind of cichlids together

yea not sure either what gallons that come ou tto but you can get away with it till they reach large sizes and if tank is big enough i have seen those together even when they get big.......they are aggressive but not like ur dealing with umbees or Dovii which would be a no no for sure...

is that around 180 gallons? it could work. try it

I couldnt see a problem with it in a 180g they both should have enough room, plus jags arnt agressive, its just when they fight back the other fish ends up dead
I got two of them and they leave every fish alone, the flowerhorn is the only one that bugs them so when they flare up the FH swims for it!

martykote: your tank is way to overstocked, why to many fish in there and there all mixed up as well, africans with americans dont go well.

VIP,All of them grew up together starting at 2" RD is 5" & the rest 3"to4" & all getting along

of course they will get along, for now, but when there instincts take over at about 6" you will have alot of fighting and fish death because of tank space and territorial instincts. Its your choice, but it will happen, you still have alot of time to get more tanks all over 55g+ or you could take some back, witch is a hard thing to do true

VIP is right,

although Cichlids may be nice when younger, once they grow they begin getting territorial and aggressive to all other fish!

Fortunantly you have a lot of time to condier your options!

to get back to the subject the tank is about (6ftx3ftx2ft ) if its 600 ltr there is plenty of room for both these fish even at there full growm size
