My 60L tank currently houses as it states in my sig.

I got the Kribs on Thursday and they seem ok, One of them chases the other around but besides that they seem happy.

What i want to know is what other cichlid should i look at? I was thinking maybe a Bolivian Ram or 2, or some other cihlids?

What do you reckon is viable and would suit my tank?

Cheers

Ben

I think you're going to be lucky to get away with 2 kribs in that size tank to be honest. -_- What sex are they?

60l/15US is very small to house kribs in IMO. If they are a pair they will get very aggressive if spawning and could be aggressive with each other during this time also. There has to be enough room in the tank for them to get away from each other.

If you have 2 of the same sex, you might be ok but if they are 2 females I don't fancy your chances based on my experience.

I certainly would not add any more cichlids to that tank. I think you are overstocked as it is. Perhaps not in terms of inches per gallon (although I think you are actually) but definatley in terms of aggression and compatibility.

I have taken on of the kribs out temporarily and put him in my 10g because he was getting bullied by the other one.

He seems much happier already which is great.

I know it's not an ideal size tank for cichlids but no ones perfect eh? I don't think the tank is overstocked at all. 6 neon tetra and 3 danio, 1 4cm long clown plec and a krib? thats not overstocked at all!

I want to get a bigger tank for only cichlids but i don't want to yet, probably after my birthday (8th of June).

So why do it then?

I think you are/were overstocked. Kribs are just not suited to that size of tank. Mine are over 3" not including tails. Your plec will be around 4" and considering how much mess the produce as well. 6 neons at what 1" each same for the danios.

I don't go on inch per gallon rules but you'd be out if you do. Kribs are too aggressive to be put into a tank like that. You might be ok with just the one but the 30l is now overstocked by a long way. I have a krib on her own in a 40l.

It's not only about the size of fish but about how much room they need to be happy and to not be overcrowded. Kribs can be aggressive, especially females and so need a lot of room.

Edit: Oh and when you judge your stocking you need to think about adult sizes, temprement, space the occupy and how much waste they produce.
