is the wolf cichlid okay with a red tail (when bothy fully grown) or will the red tail eat this cichlid need advice please

i have read that this fish needs a 200-1 ratio tank so will be at home in the tank im building for the red tail(3000 uk gal)

Thats a big tank. Thats about the size of my living room? I loved my Wolfie when I had him. Lost him due to an incident with my son and a pellet gun but lets leave that for another time.

....not sure. im positive though no matter how big that cats mouth was the full grown dovii would win

thank ex-amp how big is a full grown dovi (28"?) if so i am guessing that the dovi is a mean little so and so then would it just harras the red tail cos i have decided to keep just the red tail in the tank thanks for the advice

you could not put the dovii and the cat together. the dovii would eventually kill the cat. dovii are very aggressive. they are best kept alone and do need alot of room. the full grown length of a dovii is about 24".

If you wanted to keep another fish with the RTC I would recommend either another big catfish like a TSN (Tiger Shovlenose) or a shoal of large Pacus maybe, or maybe both! But be aware that the RTCs can and do try to eat things nearly 3/4 of their size and Pacus do have strong jaws and could cause some serious damage to a young RTC. :)
