chubby plec

My LFS has a 'chubby plec' it's $7.99 <---(meant to be a pound sign but my keyboard doesn't have it)

is that a good price? They said it's peaceful... anyone think otherwise?

I doubt its a chubby plec for that price.

Did it look like that?

Apparently they are normally brown - but go orange when stressed.

it looked like the one in the pic, but it's about the size of a large cory, could that be why the low price?

It'll probubly be something else - chubbies are not your run of the mill plec.
(and will normally be a lot more than £8.)

I think either Paul_V_Biker or the Minions have one - they will be able to say more on what they cost.

no it's definately not a bristlenose... it really is exactly like the one in the pic except tonnes smaller and brown. It's got the funny 'pom pom'-like things on the sides of it's face and the pectoral fins just like the one in the picture... maybe my lfs don't know what they're worth?? I think I'll be going back to buy him sometime soon...

go for it - just bear in mind that it get big - but they are a plec that is a bit different.

PS our bristlenoses have those 'pom pom's whent the get miffed off

The chubby plecs we had at work when i first started were only going for about £15.

Unfortunately i think the Minions 1 died and at the time i didn't have any big tanks in the workings so decided not to get the other one.

They are quite distintive with quite wide heads from what i remeber and the poms poms are very prominate and obvious of them unlike the bristlenoses.
