Christmas rock???

I went to a different LFS this past weekend and they had something there that they called Christmas rock or christmas tree rock, or something like that. It had what looked like little bitty feather dusters? sticking out of this rock and they were all different colors, red, yellow and orange, maybe? I can't remember all of the colors, but I defin remember red being one of them. Well, I was inspecting my live rock again and I notice that I have a red one now!!! Does anyone know if these are actually feather dusters or if they are something else? They are very, very tiny and go in the hole in the rock whenever the fish swim too close. Thanks for the help.

what you described is definitely christmas tree rock, and although I
can't be certain, what you seen on your live rock could be a feather duster
worm as well.
