Okay heres the deal...As I was moving I accidently hit my ten gallon w/ a pie plate...lol...Anyhow I got a small chip in the corner :-( Does this mean that it would have a high chance of breaking so I shouldn't use it? I wasn't sure if it really mattered as it is a small chip in the corner which is already thicker than the rest because it has both pieces of glass intersecting. Please tell me whether or not to throw out the tank and get a new one or if it is still usable.

Members on here ask how to repair craks so i dont think a chip will be a problem.
The diy section might be able to tell you how to repair it, (if u need to, the will probally tell u that too)

Be very careful.

A chip in a tank will be a weakness. The glass around it will have been weakened and the corner is the point of high pressure - the double glass adds to the strength and the chip may be detrimental.

We had the same post - a chip at the front of the tank on the corner, was fine for 6 months and then oneday we came back from hols to find this had happened.

I would watch it very carefully, at the first sign of leakage, empty the tank.
Consider buying a new tank just in case and have a lot of buckets ready.

On the other hand, if the crack is repairable, using aqaurium/silicon sealant as a filler may work as a plug. You should in theory empty the tank whendoing this though and do it from both sides.

Risky, so I think you'd be better off buying a new one. Since you have all the accessories, you should be able to get away with paying only around $9.

Okay I think I'll just buy a new tank that way I don't have to worry about it breaking. But what should I do with my other tank?
