Nice, I'll look too for the heck of it :p

Yup they are good tankmates for gold fish if you have a huge tank, personally i'm not a big fan of them consedering they are pretty pricey and don't have a lot of colour....they are more for the oddball types......

James Koga's web site is false. I am shocked by the misinformation on the internet about this fish. The High Fin Banded Shark is an appealing fish in juvenile form as well as an adult. This fish has been successfully breeding in fish farms throughout Asia.

A description of the Asian Sucker fish from fishbase.com: ( http://www.fishbase.com/Summary/Spe...ry.php?id=12304 )

"Body color in fries brown with 3 slanted dark bands on side of body; male adults red, female dark purple and a broad rouge-red vertical zone along lateral of body. Triangular and dorsal fin higher, extremely long and reaching as far as opposing to rear of anal fin; lips thick and with many small papilla; barbels absent; pharyngeal teeth 1 row and arranged like a comb (Ref. 45563)."

The following images are from Sichuan province of China.

>>> I am shocked by the misinformation on the internet about this fish.

This is the internet, there is a lot of rubbish written about most species/issues if you look.

A working link to the fishbase description. Note fishbase, a pretty reliable site, gives a maximum size of 600mm whilst most people who have seen these things know that they grow much larger, indeed, the supporting pictures FL posted show a substantially larger fish.

Read many sources, learn which are more reliable then others, then treat the consensus of the "Good" with a measure of doubt.

Wow, I totally agree with you. You are not only knowledgeable about fish, but also a wise-man of some sort. :hey:
