I heard of a new strain of goldfish called the China Doll/Siamese Doll/Japanese Doll. Apparently, recently, a goldfish was born with a dwarf gene and now they have bred them and have some dwarf goldfish for sale.

They are still coldwater, and they still come in all types (pearlscale, faltail, oranda, telescope, bubble eye, comet, etc) but only get to 2 inches in max size.

Anyone know about them and where I can order some?? I saw a brief article on them in Aquarium Fish Magazine (July) today.

No such thing as a dwarf goldfish, fancy or not. The siamese doll may be the smallest but it can get to over 5 inches long when looked after properly. The only dwarf types are those stunted from being kept in tanks too small. Blackmoors can get to 12 inches long as can most orandas, but generally 7 or 8 inches for any fantail type is the general size, though breeding and grow out size of tank plays a large part in a fishes eventual size.
