hi i started a planted aquarium with co2 etc, got to the point last weekend i was ready to start to stock it, i have 10 cherry shrimps and 4 assasin snails. when setting up the tank i wanted the crystal red shrimps and still do and am sure they will live together with the cherries without interbreeding but just need others opinions!
also could you tell me of any other of the dwarf shrimp species that will happily live together! i know i cant keep the crs and cbs together if i dnt want them interbreeding but thats about it!
all info and advice appreciated!
Thanks
David

Cherries are neocardinia and CRS are cardinia so will not interbreed. The only other types of shrimp you can put in there if you don't want them to hybridise with each other are hawaiin red shrimp or yellow nose shrimp (near impossible to find a supplier for mind)

Hawaiin red shrimp can be bought in the ecospheres like this click me however those are pricey I can only find US distributors but the prices are a lot better then buying an ecosphere at $50 for 25 shrimp thats approx £30. They need brackish conditions to breed but if you do get some breeding I would be very interested in buying some off of you.

edit: http://www.petshrimp.com/shrimpspecies.html < list of shrimp species with latin name you can't mix species with the same family name e.g. cardinia and another cardinia in a single tank will hybridise.
