1. does anyone know how much they cost (average) in the us?
2. how many can i keep in a 5 gallon tank?
4. is white sand good?
5.should i swap my regular filter(non sponge) for my other ponge filter? both are fully cycled
5a.if i put some in my 20 gallon with my 2 GBR will they eat it?
6. if not(for the above question) will the gbr eat the babies?
7. i have some bottom feeder pellets that none of my corydoras will eat( it contains wheat flour. shrimp meal, pea protein, condensed fish protein digest, squid meal, dried seaweed meal, beef powder and more| the brand is API) would that be good to feed the shrimp, about 1 pellet a day? would it be cruel to feed it this since it contains shrimp and squid(i heard they eat dead shrimp) so would this be fine
8. i can add some more mosses besides the java moss(would this be could)

sorry for all the questions

1. Usually around $1. Less if you're getting them in bulk.
2. A lot. They'll start reproducing pretty fast, you just gotta thin them out every now and then. Your LFS will probably take them off your hands.
4. Any substrate is good. Sand is good, because it's easier for them to find all little scraps to eat.
5. No, any filter is good.
5a. They probably will. I haven't heard any success stories with rams and cherry shrimp. Ghost shrimp and amano shrimp are a different story.
6. ^
7. This should be fine.
8. No, as long as there is some cover they will be fine.

Not any filter is good because some filters will suck up the babies so the sponge filter will do better, or cover up the other one.

i have an aquapump 600 air pump thingy, will this provide enough oxygen for shrimp?
also is it ok to have an open top, then a desk light or two to provide enough light for the plants? all of the plants will be mosses
also will the shrimp be happy in a water filled with tannins? i like the tea-colored water and it has some driftwood in it now, so i was wondering if i could leave it in there

Tannins don't do anything to any fish or invertebrate as far as I'm aware. Air pump is fine. Lighting is fine. Open top isn't. They'll climb up any wires in the tank and escape.

A few of my shrimp have attempted suicide in the past!! found one on the floor in a tiny bit of water so scooped him back up and put him back in the tank.
