Hello Guys
Could someone possibly put up some pictures of a female cherry shrimp with a "saddle" and being "berried"
I want to compare to my cherries in my tank.
Thanks

i would also appreciate this as i bought some cherries. and i want to know genders. i know females are red and males a clearer colour but i cant tell

I know that cherries can look all alike when they are stressed (ie moving them to a new tank/transporting them) and it takes quite a while for them to colour up but when they do they look brilliant.

Anyway I ask for pictures as i have one cherry which has a yellow colouration under its shell at the top near to the "spine" and want to know if this could be what everyone keeps talking about when they say a saddle.

Thanks

The second pic in this link shows a cherry shrimp with a saddle, from your description thats what it sounds like.

Also in the last pic are some berried shrimp (with eggs) and some with saddles.

my cherry has eggs then!!! where do they tend to lay them? or do they hold onto them?

Thanks for the pictures shrimper. So a female who has a saddle is preggers??

Nearly, the saddle is the unfertilized eggs. She is pregnant when she is carrying the eggs under her tail.

When she has the saddle she is ready to breed and next time she sheds her skin will probably mate and get preggers then :good:

It takes about 3-4 weeks depending on temperature.
