Well yesterday i bought my first cherry shrimp(about 1cm) all was good, but this morning i am unable to find him, i don't know what happend. I don't think any tankmates would have eaten him, could they? could he have been sucked into the filter (running 2 right now)
he does have a few plants and a wood piece to hide, is he just hidding and how long can he do so
any ideas
thanks

They are probably hiding. It's surprising that they can hide in the tiniest gaps. Try look for them late evening when the tank lights are out. It is also possible that they get into your filters if the intakes are not covered. Give them some time to get comfy with their new environment. They will come out. Good luck and enjoy :D

I got 10 about 18 months back and for the first 6 months i saw nothing, and i'm not joking. while their small they are very shy, but their over an inch and a half or so and i see them all the time.

Done worry but what fish are you keeping?

Hang on, did you just add a lone shrimp? If so you'll probably never see him, they get more confident in large numbers. I have algea shrimp in my tank and I never see them, but I know they are there because they leave little signs every now and then.
