Hello all

I have a 10 litre aquarium that I haven’t used for 6 months now and was considering setting it up as a cherry shrimp tank. The tank was emptied completely 6 months ago and has been left dry since.

I haven’t used any medication in the tank previously and and will be using new sponges and heater for the tank. I will also give the small pump and all the glass etc a good clean with peracetic acid before setting it back up.

Does this tank idea seem good to you guys and if so does anyone have any pictures of their shrimp tanks for inspiration?

Regards

Yep that will be fine for cherry shrimp! You will need to either have a pet store or another tank to put extras in because you will almost certainly have a population explosion as they multiply very fast. Start with about 5 and in a few months you'll have lots :)
Male sure the tank is cycled and well established with algae and biofilm before adding the shrimp

Thanks! I was going to use these As a fertiliser layer but am unsure if they contain copper?
Any ideas?
