Cherry Shrimp And Filter

I would like to add cherry shrimp to my tank after it is done cycling

My filter is an Aqua Clear 20. Is there a chance that shrimp could be sucked up by the filter and get stuck in intake?

If so, is there any device that I could buy/make to avoid this.

I have the amano ones and a pretty powerful canister filter and they never have had a problem. You could always cut a sponge and cover the filter intake, or put some net around it if you are worried. I have done that to stop fry getting sucked up. Only think is that the sponge or net has to be cleaned often to make sure its not blocking water from entering the filter.

I guess I'll try and fit some fish net over the intake, just to be on the safe side, and for sure I'll keep an eye on it so it wont get clogged.
