Cherry Barbs

Not sure if some of my cherry barbs are pregnant. I have noticed that they seem to be getting big bellys and never having had any pregnant fish before I haven't a clue how long it will be before they give birth and what to feed them. Will they feed on micro pellets ?

Any tips or suggestions please

A big tip. Cherry barbs are not livebearers. A female cherry barb that is getting very heavy may well be carrying lots of eggs and be ready to breed. Try posting the same question under yprinids, Characins and Atherinids and you may find someone who knows details about your fish. I, and many like me, are fairly good at about any livebearer but our knowledge of things like your barbs is pitiful. I know that I don't like the gold barbs that I brought into my tanks a few years ago but don't ask me what I would need to change for them to breed.
