the only thing i know about mating behaviour is the male will turn red when its time but i think i seen them getting ready today when i was feeding them

it looked like the female was cleaning off some leaves on 1 of my fake plants and the mae was trying to :hey: her, does that sound like breeding behaviour to you cause i know nothing about how they get down

Cherry Barbs are egg scatterers. They do not clean leaves and so forth to spawn. She was probably nibbling a bit of algae, which pretty much all Barbs do from time to time - vegetable matter is an imortant part of their diet.

The eggs are fertilised after they have been expelled by the female, so they don't mate, if that is what you meant. They prefer to spawn in fine leafed, "feathery" plants.
