I disagree. B. titteya is a solitary fish in the wild. In smaller tanks, 2 males together may fight. This species is best kept as a pair, or better, trio, one male to two females.
I have 1 male and 2 females which works out great, a pair would also be good. I did have 2 males in the tank at one time and apart from a little chasing they were fine. I do agree with lateral line, many people say cherrys should be kept 6+ but I find they seem to pair off and are at least just as happy in a pair.
