Well in a couple of months im going to be needing a heater for my small 3.5 gallon tank. Being 14, im pretty poor  . So what do you guys use to heat small tanks? The cheaper the better, but i'd rather not boil/fry anything in the tank!

Here in the stats, wal-mart sells a 7 watt heate for about 6 dollars. I use it in my 2.5 gallon even thought it is a bit under the 5 wpg rule. the brand is...umm...sorry I fobrgot. I will check tommorow as it is 12:30 in the morning right now.
:good:

hmm..i dont noe if id recommend it ive heard on various betta fourms that these heaters sometimes end up shocking and killing the fish...

 That doesnt sound good, i think when im less tired tommorow i'll look up heater in the betta forum just to be sure... -_-

If you only want to heat the water above the room temp by a few degrees, then id go with a hydor mini heater, that you can pick up in the shops for £10-£15 and on ebay etc for £9 inc delivery.
I have one in my bettas tank, and they work great. Plus they are only 7.5W so they dont over-heat the water...

If you plan on haveing a light then that will also warm the water up...

Hope this helps, Mikey
