Bargain tank!!

Had a look on Ebay and found the above tank. Seems stupidly cheap, I'm tempted but it's abit of a drive down to Dorset from Norfolk :(

Cool, they even have what looks like a common plec in the tank :D, what will they do with the fish if you dont take them with the tank tho :dunno: :-(.

Hmmmm.......

Plymouth to Weymouth = 103 miles

Company car = no fuel costs

:D

Might be worth a punt on that one (even though I don't have room for the tank and have been told by the fiancee not to get another  )

5 foot tank :D :D :D

Grantham to Weymouth = 240 miles and 4 hours driving each way..... :-( :-( :-(

Wot did you have to go and tell us about it for??!?!?!?!?!?!?

:p

Darnit I want that so much... I'm planning on a larger tank for an oscar... too bad I live in the U.S. :(

Having now spent a bit of time looking on Ebay, does anyone actually buy tanks new anymore?? Seems that you can pick up tanks, cabinet and equipment for next to nothing. Admittedly you might have to travel to get it but the cheap price moe than makes up for this.........

>Wanders off to have another look on Ebay

Just got this message from the seller,

"Hello, Could you tell me what condition and age the tank is? What are you currently using it for? What filter is used? What will you do with the fish if the buyer doesn't want them?"

hi, the tank was custom built about five years ago and i bought it second hand four years ago with a wooden lid. scince then ive had a plastic / metal lid made to house the lights. the glass tank is in very good condition but will need cleaning. im currently using it to house tropcal fish (3 in total) a large tiger oscar and two large parrot fish all of which can be rehomed if not wanted. all the other bits are standard - heater, filter/pump etc paul

I was very tempted but it would be a real struggle to find a place for a 5ft tank, and fitting it in the car would require a bit of imaginative packing

Sarah are you really gonna drive all that way for a tank?
wow thats dedication :D

why couldnt he live where i live  :-(

It's not dedication, it's madness!! I've only been keeping fish for a month and I've got 3 tanks already!! But only likkle ones.... If I threw out the sofa I reckon I could fit a 5 footer in the lounge.....

And it would get me out the house next weekend.....I seem to remember I'm already doing something this weekend!

Sarah

Looks like a good deal, the only thing that would worry me are the fish and what he would be doing with them if there are not "required" by the buyer.

Is there an oscar in there? Those are some pretty makor fish from what I ca tell, at least one clown loach, a common/large plec and 2 parrots as well as something that could be an oscar or a bit of wood The tank is too dirty to tell really.

Even though that is very good, especially as it comes with something to sit it on which is always an expensive part of setting up a tank.

I just hope that whoever gets it looks after those fish. The tank does not look 5ft to me, looks pretty crowded.

If you check the reply I got(posted above) there are only two Parrot fish and an Oscar. I would guess the picture is old. The owner said that he can rehome the fish if they are unwanted.

It's where they would be rehomed that worries me, he obviously does not know that these fish should not go together.

I think the tank looks minging and that may make it go for a lesser price. Lucky buyer! :D

P.S. Sorry for not reading the other posts properly, I usually do!
