I bought a channel cat today and I wanna know what size tank I should put it in and what temp should it be at

Forget the tank and get some sort of pond. These are absolute monsters - commonly fished from the wild at between 1 and 2 foot but can grow significantly larger with some measuring over 40 inches!!

If you cant accommodate this and lets face it most people cant, please return it to where you got it from and go for a more suitable catfish for a tank. If you want something quirky with long whiskers something like a group of Pictus Catfish would be much more tank suitable - as long as the tank was still a sunstantial size....

Yes a pool or better yet a pond would do it well. I caught one of these fish and it was 31in long and weighted about 15 pounds. It also tasted delicious.

No tank is really suitable for these guys, it would have to be massive. Have you heard of the king of DIY on youtube? Check out his 2000gal tank, this will give you a good idea of the tank size required for large fish.
