Hi,

Does anyone have experience of keeping these fish ? I recently bought two , and think they are really nice fish. I currently have them in a community set up, where they are peaceful and have not attacked any of the other inhabitants. They sometimes chase each other around, but this only lasts for seconds, and then they are calm again.

They seem to have a reputation as aggressive, but in my very short experience, they seem incredibly peaceful.

Yes, I have kept Channa Pulchra.
They are great fish, can be very aggressive as they grow.
Most important, they are SUB TROPICAL fish, so they need to be in much cooler water than tropical fish. (around 18-20 is ideal)

And as with all Channa, they should be kept in Channa only setups. Snakeheads are not community fish.

I kept 6 together from babies and they are stunning fish, I kept mine in my pond in the summer as well.

They also displayed the most aggression I have seen from any fish to each otehr when they reached a certain size. The beating up of the weaker pulchra was terrible thats how my 6 decided which pair were going to live in the tank and the others went in the pond

amazingly stunnig fish though as they get bigger
