A True Oddball
Hi all,
I have been trying to get a pair of rainbow snakeheads, I did have 7 individuals.
when I bought them they were heads with stringy thing bodies, they are all now at least 3 times the size of when I bought them, and nice and chunky, with great colourings, awesome oranges and blues.
Very nice looking fish.
They only issues I had, which I thought was going to be the start of pairing is the largest fish (which I believe is male, as he has grown faster than all the others) was fighting with one of the other fish, lip locking and wrestling to the ground. A few days later I found the smaller fish dead
but since then there has been no activity in the tank, they all sit together happily, occasionally flare at each other, but thats it.
I have tried simulating weather changes by reducing the water level for a few days then topping up with cold water, there was a argo after the cold water went in, but as normal its all back to being friendly.
Could it be that I now have one male and five females, and thats why there are no issues. I have in the past keep a group of several Channa gachua in the same size tank and they all got along very well to, maybe it just me?
But from what I know of them the males dont keep harems?
any advice on this would be invaluable.
thanks,
