hey all.

want to find out if there will be any huge implications in adding more substrate ?

i want to go with a diffrent aquascape less live rock in main tank and more swimming space for the tangs a more open look, my substrate at the moment is very fine crushed coral about 1cm thick was thinking to make that to about 6 cm with small araganot and will also act as a DSB i do already have dsb in my sump.

800 litre display system,

running for about 6 months and all my parmaters are excellent..

DSB's in the display tank are rarely a good idea. You need far more than 6cm deep to get it to actually function the way a DSB is supposed to and by the time it's deep enough, there's no room left for the fish...

That said, removing rock and adding some sand should be fine. Just make sure you rinse the sand thoroughly and be prepared for cloudiness when you add it.

ok thanks ski...

was just thinking of adding more sand and rescape the rocks..
