well here's the thing, what i mean is , i got my 29 today, right, so to get ammonia faster, tommorrow when i do other water change...., (not even water yet in the new tank) ....can i use the 25% of it to add it to the 75% of de-chlorinated water on the 29?

just to speed up the ammonia.... thnx for ur time!

(if i dont answer back in like 5' is becuz i went to the movies to see shrek 2 YAY! :hyper: )

THNX AGAIN

edited: water change on the 10 gal, add that 25% that im gettin rid of to the new tank, that possible?

Hi Dolores, I really don't see any benefit in doing that. Your water that you're taking from your established tank should not contain any ammonia. A better idea would be to take some of the filter media or gravel from your established tank and add it to the new tank. Then use pure ammonia for cycling the new tank.

hth

...oh well the 10 still cycling... (yeah yeah i kno maybe little bit early to go for the second tank) but im doing a fishless cycle this time thats why im askin' that , but i guess it'll be better to go and buy some pure ammonia....
it might sound a little dumb question by this time... but ... (dont laugh pls) where do i get the pure ammonia? im cofused, i read topic where you can get it, but i cant find it, and obvious i dont remember.

thnx heresmike, it did help :)

go to wal-mart. clear bottle with purple label. It'll say clear ammonia and cost you about $0.97
