While cleaning my betta bowls yesterday, I noticed something peculiar... my newest Walmart veil tail's bowl was full of uneaten betta pellets. He didn't look thin though, so I knew he must be eating something. Sure enough, today he turned his nose up to his pellets and wouldn't eat a single one, BUT he ate every single bite of his bloodworms
Being a Walmart veil tail, I'm sure he hasn't exactly been fed well during his life, so it's just funny to me that he has such discriminating tastes

my bettas was the opposite, hated bloodworms with a pashion, loved his betta bite :D they all have differant tastes i guess ;)

I have a CT from a breeder who is like that!

im having almost the same problem mine isnt eating dried i dont think i could keep bloodworms

Mine will eat flakes and live, flakes only certain types and live, only if it floats and wriggles or goes right in front of its face... and wiggles. Luckilly I can get live brine shrimp, bloodworms, daphni, cyclops etc.

Two out of three of mine will touch nothing but bloodworm, they prefer live to frozen probably because the frozen I have are so much bigger than live, so I have to cut them in half!

My other male Betta turns his nose up at bloodworm 50% of the time but seems to have no problem with flakes! (Aquarian flakes meant for the other fish, he's in the com. tank and doing great before anyone says 'bettas should be kept in solitary confinement!').

None of them will entertain the expensive Betta Bites and I'm simply not comfortable starving them into eating this food.

I've got a batch of BBS on the brew which should be ready tonight which all the adult fish absolutely love as a treat. Never fed BBS to my Bettas before, only fed them adult BS. Anyone have any experience with Bettas and BBS?

I have created a whole bunch of monsters! All of my males and my tiniest female have been fed frozen blood worms and mysis shrimp because I de-thaw one cube every day as I need to feed my DP puffer a few bloodworms. So with the leftover bloodworms I feed them to my bettas and my fish in my 120 gallon. Every time I put pellets in, I see all of them floating there uneaten. Yet they gobble the frozen bloodworms right up.
