i am going to take a ceramic class next year in highschool and i think we make stuff out of clay would this be ok to put in my tank or do i need to do something to make it safe or would it just not work??

If its "fired" with a non toxic glaze you will be fine, I presume some of your workmates will be making cups and plates etc, so NEED to be non toxic. !
Theres a member on here who makes this stuff.... hunt him down ! lol

yes, it will be safe, i just made a cave in ceramics class. i used a nice nontoxic glaze called mudslide and my fish are doing fine. as long as the glaze is food safe, it will be fine in your tank. any glaze that is really bright and colorful isnt good for your tank because they usually contain lead
