Ceramic/clay Pots

Ive bought a small flower pot to go in my tank,want to half bury it.The tank is still cycling so no fish in it as yet.Should i do anything special to it before putting it in or just a quick wash?

ive always given my ceramic and clay pots a good wash in boiling water, neer had a problem yet.

yeah I just got a terracotta pot for my tank, I just washed under the tap and then poured boiling water over it.
