2 small Corys
2 Blue Platys
5 Harlequin Rasboras
5 Black Phantom Tetras
4 Assasin Snails

id like to get a couple of centre piece fish something that wont grow to big. like the look of alot of the new world cichlids
1. blue rams
2. bolivian rams

i also love the red tail sharks could probably only have 1 though?? any ideas on fish guys obviously i need fish that will be compatible?

First make sure that you have at least 6 each of the corys, harlequins and tetras because they are all schooling fish.

Yes, you can have a pair of blue rams OR Bolivian rams.. Keep in mind that blue rams are quite sensitive fish and the Bolivians get a little bit bigger. If you get either, you should try to make sure that the water parameters are perfect and the tank is well planted first.

Red tail sharks (Epalzeorhynchus bicolor) are quite boisterous and incompatible with the rams (and I would personally say most of your other fish too). Your tank needs to be at least 1 meter long, preferably more, if you want to keep them.

Definate no for the red tailed shark, they require min of 55 gals otherwise their natural aggression will overtake the tank.

Bolivian Rams would probably be more suited because the german blue rams require a higher temperature, between 28-32 celcius which most of the other fish will not enjoy, especially the corys.

Bolivian rams ideally want a PH of around 7 and a tank temp of around 24.

HI DUDE IS THAT THE SAME CICHLID AS 'Apistogramma Agassizi Red' ON www.directtropcicals.co.uk

CHEERS GUYS :good:

A. agassizi are a different species from cacatuoides. Both are about the same in terms of difficulty. If you decide to go for either, please make sure you know what their requirements are because both can be quite picky, even though they are considered "easy" for SA dwarfs.

Macmaster's Dwarf Cichlid - Apistogramma macmasteri... Agassiz's Dwarf Cichlid - Apistogramma agassizii... Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid - Apistogramma cacatuoides... Borelli's Dwarf Cichlid - Apistogramma borelli...
All very beautiful dwarf cichlids and all compatible in a cummunity tank , havily planted tank with a few small caves. Bearing in mind thay will get a bit aggresive if and when they start breeding...
As far as I'm aware the borellis come in an opal and also some high colour hybrids, the cockatoos come in various hybrid colours too , very attractive...... have fun choosing :fish:
