Anyone keep this fish?

Just thought more information would be good, around how the aclimitize, grow etc...and just members opinions and pics!

most danios are easy to keep and pearl danios are no exception.... they are know for thier calm nature. you should keep them in a group of 5 or more, believe they are so pretty when shoaling :good:

I keep galaxy rasboras. I have a shoal of maybe 20. They are actually really hardy and I got my first when they were quite new on the scene about early 2007 and still have some of those origionals. Mine bred a few times when they were in a smaller tank(I posted a few pics here)but now they are in a mixed community I never see any fry. They are not fussy when it comes to food and mix well with similar sized fish.

Cool.

yep I have not seen them around much either (UK - South East, Beds area)....

I almost never see these guys in the chain-type shops, but they are becoming more popular with the more specialized fish stores (US). And now that they have apparently proven relatively easy to breed in captivity, you will probably start seeing them in the nearish future if you haven't yet.

Really? I see them quite often in shops round here now and for as little as £2.50 each.

Just out of interest, how big have you seen them, I saw them today but had crooked bodies and very small. The guy in the shop said they must not have been bred well.

I have these guys at MA @ Bourne End, Buckinghamshire and i believe they are also in MA @ Chipperfield, Herts or Bucks...

I also saw them at MA @ Aylesbury (Wendover, Worlds End Garden Center).

Lovely little fish! Not cheap though, you are more likely to see them at about £4 each!

Sounds like these are wild caught then. The first 6 I got im sure were as well and they sounded like you describe, very skinny. But after a few weeks of good food and water conditions they looked like completely doifferent fish. I have seen them from very tiny individuals to full sized adults for sale.

So what is the full grown size of these?

Can anyone post pics of there own fish please? I have seen on net but would like members view!

I no longer have these. Although they did breed and left me with 3 females that now live in a 25litre cube with cherry shrimp, nerites and a big Narrow Leaf java fern.
