HERE is a TUT for any 1 who dnt know howto use this, I done it for another site a while back :

ccleaner

IF you computer is starting to get slow, take ages to load programs then this explain howto set up and use ccleaner, and what it does to make your pc like new again

it will delete and clean all in the following:

Where to get ccleaner

http://www.ccleaner.com/

howto set-up and run ccleaner

Download ccleaner from the link above , once you have downloaded it run the installer , once that is done open the program you should have a screen like this :

ccleanertut1.jpg

on the top left hand side the program it will tell you some basic information about your pc :

when you run the cleaner you have to run it twice , once on the windows and applications , and once on the registry

Cleaning windows and applications :

click on the cleaner tabb ( left side ) now hit analize ( bottom left ) ccleaner will now search and give you a list of what it has found that needs to be cleaned :

( please note that when running for the 1st time it is likly to find 1000s of files and the total to delete will be very big , this is normal )

now click on run cleaner ( bottom right )

the cleaner will now run and clean all the file showed before , resuling screen :

Cleaning the registy

click on the registry tabb ( left side ) then click scan for issues ( bottom left ) ccleaner will now scan for issues in your regitry and give a list of what they are :

ccleanertut9.jpg

( please note that if running this for the 1st time , there are likely to be 100s of issues found, this is normal , i run mine every 2 weeks thats why there is so little in my results list )

now click on fix selected issues ( bottom right ) . you will now be prompted by this screen :

my advice here is, when using ccleaner for the 1st time back up the changes , that way if anything is wrong its an easy fix, other wise click no and then on the next page select fix all following issues ,

you will now have your results page.

Advanced options :

To uninstall programs , manage statup programs or manage system restore points click on the tools tabb ( left side )

to run ccleaner when windows starts : options > settings > checkmark the box "run ccleaner when windows starts

notes

* only run the regisry cleaner every two weeks
* only run the cleaner every 4-7 days
*after you have run the cleaner for the 1st time you can change what it delete when its run , by editing this you can stop if from deleteing you browse history ( drop down box in browser ) and things like that

To be honest, I advise against the average user running CCleaner unless they're specifically told to by a technician.
With modern computers, CCleaner won't help that much, but can be useful for fixing duff uninstalls.

I personally disagree with this,

the registry are can be a problem if used too much fair enough , but thats only if used to much and you dont make a back up

but as for the cleaner part this is perfectly safe 100%. nothing it deletes does anything but slow down your pc.

there is loads of info online about it and even massive company's like Pcworld are in favour with it,

It's still not something I'd let my grandma use.

well i would, no savy pc users dont know howto clean cookies and other temp files there is no need for,

now tell me whats easier

scene 1 )

teach the grand parent or non savy pc user howto delete them 1 by 1

or

scene 2

have a program to do it all for you

????

the answer is easy !!!!

As I said, if your computer isn't older than 3-4 years, you won't need to do this.
And there are easier ways of doing it without downloading extra software.

What ways are there to remove obsolete registry values which are easy on mass? I find it pretty tedious removing things manually on the registry.

A program like that is pretty useful, I also think there are probably a lot more people out there using computers that are over 3/4 years old than there are which aren't. It also helps clean up some vital space with ease, only having 55gb of usable space on my SSD is awfully restricting, I make sure there is no wastage.
