I've been feeding my Brochis splendens mostly frozen food. They regularly get daphnia and bloodworm, sometimes brine shrimp that the tetras let sink, and they get nibbles from Hikari brand spirulina wafers, but am thinking of getting pellets to round out their diet. I'm a big fan of Hikari brand, but I don't think they make shrimp/catfish pellets.

For anyone who isn't familiar with latin names, Brochis are pretty much like a cory, but a little larger (3.5" max).

Will my Brochis be happy just with frozen, or should I get prepared foods to supplement? What should I look for in pellets? I think there may be vitamins and minerals that just aren't available in two types of frozen food.

I supplement the diets of all my cats with a once weekly feeding of JMC catfish pellets which they go absolutely nuts for, even the 2ft long liearius comes out and feeds on the tiny 4mm pellets  I dont know if you can get them there but if you cant maybe you could mail order some from here or get someone to send you some?

Hi undawada,

I feed my cory and loaches king british catfish pellet food, Nutrafin max sinking complete food tablets (favourite) and hikari sinking wafers. As well as the usual flake food and occasional live foods. I'd look for the nutrafin brand they are a definate favourite with my fish.

Hope this helps

Emma

I also feed with JMC catfish pellets, its not just the bottom feeders that enjoy them either, all the tank residents get stuck into them.

I use Hikari sinking carnivore pellets to feed all my corys, along with treats of cockle or fine mussel. Sometimes feed Hikari Sinking variety wafers aswell.

Tend to mix what i feed my fish completly randomly. I do not stick to a routine as I believe variety is the spice of life and my fish appear to behave alot more naturally when they don't know when their next meal is coming and what exactly they are getting.
